CIRKULATIONSCENTRALEN
Founded in 2003, CirkulationsCentralen is an organization for the production and presentation of contemporary art and culture, located in Malmö, Sweden. The heart of CC is an artists' cooperative consisting of twentyfour studios. Our 700m2 space, located in a former industrial building, also houses a workshop and a gallery.
Since opening we have presented over 80 exhibitions. We have shown the work of member artists as well as of invited artists and collectives from Sweden and abroad, and we have hosted seminars, screenings, concerts, and performances.
Our new initiative is called "CC On the wall", a project space for two dimensional works were up and coming artist are invited to show their work.
We recently attended Alt_Cph Art Fair in Copenhagen, Supermarket Art Fair in Stockholm and Art Swap Europe in Berlin, and we are now currently working to build and strengthen relationships with new groups, spaces, and initiatives. We have also begun to develop an exchange program with other atist run galleries. We invite groups to curate an exhibiotion at CC; the first galleries invited is Copenhagen based SPARK gallery, The White Tube gallery in Oslo and also the Copenhagen based gallery DUNK!.
CirkulationsCentralen is a non-commercial artist-run space and maintains relationships with other artist-run and non-profit initiatives.
